Yes, Peter Maddison not only said this, but he also said “isn’t that great!”. (Well no, it’s not actually for us sensitive building surveyor types.) In episode 5 of Grand Designs Australia they are at Lake Bennett in that part of Northern Territory where there are no building regulations! So this Grand Designer is going to be building an irregular staircase with no balustrade. (Oh Oh!)
