The Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB or MFESB) in Victoria, Australia publishes a set of guidelines. According to their site “the guidelines outline the MFB position on specific building and dangerous goods related issues.”

There are a whole lot of useful things about fire extinguishers, alternative solutions for the fire performance requirements etc. In addition the MFB and CFA are starting to work collaboratively on these. As long as you keep in mind that the brigades have obligations under their legislation for life safety, property and the environment these are very good for another view on the topics.

Here are the MFB guidelines. The CFA also have some useful publications though they tend to be more bush fire focused.

Have you seen the new Victorian Fire Services guideline for alternative solutions?
